This motorized sand equivalent shaker performs the shaking stage of the sand equivalent test according to ASTM D2419, AASHTO T176 and EN 933-8, with an automatic cycle: 203 mm stroke at 175–180 adjustable strokes per minute and a digital timer that stops the shaker at the end of the test. For CE markets the shaker is supplied with a safety cabinet (model S160-01N).
What is the sand equivalent test?
The sand equivalent test shows the proportion of clay and fine dust in sands and fine aggregates. The sample is shaken in a graduated cylinder with a flocculating solution; after settling, the ratio between the sand reading and the clay reading gives the sand equivalent value.
