The device is suitable to execute various measurements regarding the mechanical properties and physical conditions of different materials. In particular, based on the known data (for example the distance between the probes) it is possible to measure the ultrasonic impulse speed inside different materials.

This information allows us to suppose a possible status of conservation of the concrete (or other materials) and deduce the mechanical properties.

The device includes a touch-screen display with ports for the connection of two probes, two 55 kHz probes with connecting cables, a calibration cylinder, a tube of grease, a carrying case with a handle and a shoulder strap.

ULTRASONIC TESTS
Some of the tests that can be performed with C372M are:

  • Measuring the flight time between the two probes
  • Measuring the speed of the signal if the distance between the probes is known.
  • Determination of the distance between the probes if the speed is known.
  • Young modulus if the Poisson ratio, the density and the distance between the probes are known.

SONREB TEST
It is possible to pair C372M with C386M (digital sclerometer) to directly import the rebound index measurement into the ultrasonic device and calculate the compressive strength of the concrete.

This is an instrument using the most modern technologies; it has a 1⁄4 VGA colour touch screen, 128 MB Compact Flash interface, SD card, USB, RS232, RS485, working system Windows CE with the possibility to manage, EXCEL, WORD, PPT files etc.

The use of the appliance is made easy because it is based on PC and Windows CE way of working, it allows using the user knowledge of the classic personal computer and its softwares.
Possibility to connect the instrument to internet for consultations or extractions, like a common PC. Possibility to visualise the shape of the transmitting wave while it goes through the material checked, by transforming the instrument into a real oscilloscope with the option “Scope” mode.
