Methods of testing cement - Part 3: Determination of setting times and soundness; German version EN 196-3:2016
This European Standard specifies the methods for determining standard consistence, setting times and soundness of cement. The methods apply to common cements; they also apply to other cements and materials when the relevant standards refer to these methods. The methods may not apply to cement types which, for example, have a very rapid initial setting time. The methods are used to assess whether cements comply with the specified requirements for setting times and soundness. This part of EN 196 describes the reference methods; other methods and apparatus - where indicated in notes - may be used provided that they have been shown to give the same test results as the specified methods and apparatus. In the event of dispute, the reference apparatus and reference methods are decisive.
