Methods of testing cement - Part 1: Determination of strength; German version EN 196-1:2016
This standard describes a method for determining the compressive strength and, optionally, the flexural strength of cement mortar. The method applies to common cements and to other cements and materials whose standards refer to this method. It may not apply to other cement types which, for example, have a very short initial setting time. This method is used to assess whether the compressive strength of a cement conforms to the requirements, and for validation testing of CEN Standard sand according to FprEN 196-1 or of alternative compaction equipment. This standard describes reference equipment and procedures and allows other compaction equipment and procedures, provided they have been validated according to the relevant provisions of this document. In the event of dispute, only reference equipment and procedures are used.
