Soils: investigation and testing - Determination of the compaction reference values of a soil type - Standard Proctor test - Modified Proctor test
This document determines the compaction characteristics of a material: water content and dry density at the Standard Proctor optimum and at the Modified Proctor optimum. This document applies to soils (described and classified in standard NF P 11-300), untreated or treated with hydraulic binders, used in earthworks. For the determination of the PROCTOR references of mixtures treated and untreated with hydraulic binders, made from sands and aggregates (codified in standard NF P 18-545) used for road construction and civil engineering (pavement layers), reference should be made to standard NF EN 13286-2.
