This standard sets out the methods for measuring the deflection caused by a rolling load. Deflection is one of the essential parameters of pavement condition assessment. Its almost universal use requires the definition of the underlying principle, the way in which this parameter is measured and the main values that characterise it. This justifies the preparation of this standard. Part 2 deals with a method for measuring the deflection and the radius of curvature of the load influence line using the modified Benkelman beam.
