Corrosion and protection of reinforcing steel in concrete. Determination of half cell potential of reinforcing steel.
Establishes the procedures to be followed for determining the spontaneous potential and the potential under polarization of the reinforcing bars of reinforced and prestressed concrete. The spontaneous potential is determined in order to know the condition of the reinforcement with regard to corrosion phenomena. The potential under cathodic polarization is determined in order to ascertain the degree of cathodic protection provided to the reinforcement at the measuring point. Includes the 1992 update sheet.
