C104MLPP Automatic Servo-Controlled System for Triaxial Rock Tests

( Concrete Aggregates-Rocks )

  • EN 1926
  • EN 14580
  • ASTM D7012
  • ASTM D2664
  • ASTM D3148
  • ASTM D5407

The system is designed for the triaxial testing of rock specimens, ensuring precise control of confining pressure during test execution. It is a critical component in advanced geomechanical analysis, enabling engineers to assess parameters such as Poisson’s ratio, Young’s modulus, and triaxial failure stress.

Used in combination with a Hoek cell and axial compression load frame (1500, 2000 or 3000 kN capacity), this servo-controlled unit maintains constant isotropic pressure up to 70 MPa with ±1% accuracy, as required by international standards.

The system enables both single-stage and multi-stage triaxial testing, offering a powerful and cost-effective alternative when testing time, specimen availability, or budgets are limited. In a single multi-stage triaxial test, the system can simulate multiple failure states and generate a complete failure envelope, reducing the need for multiple individual tests.

Integrated extensometers (applied directly to the specimen surface) provide real-time acquisition of axial and radial deformation, allowing the software to automatically calculate:

  • Poisson’s ratio
  • Stress-strain curves
  • Tangent and secant Young’s modulus
  • Maximum compressive strength under triaxial conditions

Designed to work seamlessly with the Servo-Plus Progress control unit (mod. C104N) and the Elastic Modulus Test System for Rocks (mod. A150M), this module ensures precise, automated execution of the full test cycle.
