The ARC – Asphalt Roller Compactor by Matest is a fully electro-mechanical system designed to produce representative bituminous mixture slabs without the need for air compressors or hydraulic pressure. It simulates real on-site compaction using a segmented roller with alternating rotation.

The compaction cycle is programmable for load or deformation, ensuring uniform density and dimensions of slabs in compliance with standards and research requirements. Produced slabs can be cored or cut to obtain cylinders and beams for bending fatigue, indirect tensile, static and dynamic creep, stiffness, and 4-point tests.

Optional segment roller and sliding cart heating systems allow temperature control up to 180°C, preventing thermal shocks and maintaining proper workability of the specimens.
