Softmatic is Matest’s fully automatic Ring and Ball apparatus, engineered to deliver fast, accurate and repeatable softening point measurements for asphalts, bitumen and pitches.
Equipped with dual laser sensors, the system precisely detects the ball drop, ensuring reliable results across the full softening range.
The microprocessor-controlled heating plate maintains a constant temperature gradient of 5 °C/min, fully compliant with international Standards. An integrated magnetic stirrer guarantees uniform bath temperature, while the forced-air cooling system significantly reduces cycle times, allowing multiple tests per day.
The intuitive touch-screen interface (800×480 px) simplifies parameter setup, data management and result visualization, offering advanced tools for test analysis and storage.
