The apparatus consists of:

  • digital loading balance 16 kg capacity x 0.1g sens, with software to display and hold the failure load;
  • flexure device fitted on the balance, with a central rotating knob for load application.

The load is obtained by simply rotating the knob that applies a flexural pressure on the strip sample up to the failure. The balance displays and holds the failure load.
