The Pressure Ageing Vessel (PAV) is designed to simulate the long-term ageing behaviour of bitumen and bituminous binders, reproducing the effects equivalent to 5–10 years of oxidative ageing. During the test, the sample is subjected to controlled high pressure and elevated temperature for 20 hours, allowing laboratories to evaluate key performance parameters such as penetration and softening point after ageing.
The unit offers three operating modes: Fully Automatic, Semi-Automatic, and Manual, providing maximum flexibility for both research environments and routine testing. The integrated 7" colour touchscreen controller ensures intuitive operation, real-time monitoring and quick access to test parameters.
A fast pre-heating system adjustable up to 80°C drastically reduces conditioning time, while a programmable timer allows users to schedule the test start automatically. The instrument is fully certified (CE, PED, ASME), ensuring compliance and safety in all laboratory conditions.
