The CMOD (Crack Mouth Opening Displacement) test and the CTOD (Crack Tip Opening Displacement) measure the progressive opening of a crack during the flexural test of fibre-reinforced concrete specimens. Using a fork-shaped crack opening transducer, the system accurately records the enlargement of the crack as the load is applied, allowing the evaluation of the post-crack behaviour, ductility, and energy absorption of the material.
This test method provides high-precision measurements and is essential for characterising the toughness and deformation capacity of fibre-reinforced or sprayed concrete according to EN 14651 and UNI 11039-2 standards.
The following items are required to perform a test on FRC, together with the Servo-Research control unit paired with a flexural testing machine.
